At the 2020 Scottish Jazz Awards, corto.alto picked up both Best Band and Best Album trophies for their exciting nu-jazz collective. Blending sounds from afrobeat, hip hop & soul backed by an integral jazz mindset, the group comprises some of Scotland’s finest young jazz talents. Led by trombonist Liam Shortall, who is also a member of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Graham Costello’s STRATA, AKU, Tom McGuire & The Brassholes and Fat-Suit. The group will curate a special edit of their unique 'Live at 435' performances for our Spring Sessions series.
